What owners ask about masonry and facade restoration.
How do I know if my brickwork needs pointing?
Run a key along a mortar joint. If it crumbles away easily, or the joints have receded so the brick edges stand proud, the mortar is past its working life and the wall is holding water rather than shedding it.
Will new mortar match the existing wall?
We match colour, and more importantly strength. A mortar harder than the surrounding brick moves stress into the brick face and causes spalling, so the specification is worked out rather than guessed.
Do you handle repairs identified in a facade inspection report?
Yes. We carry out the repair work a report calls for. Waystar does not perform the inspection itself or provide engineering sign off, and that stays with your qualified inspector or engineer.
Can masonry work be done in winter?
Some of it. Mortar needs temperatures above a threshold to cure properly, so we will tell you honestly whether your job can run now or is better scheduled.
