Frequently asked questions
Why does concrete break away over steel?
Corroding steel expands to several times its original volume. That pressure pushes the concrete cover off from the inside.
Can I just fill the hole?
Not if steel is exposed and corroding. Filling over it seals the corrosion in and the repair fails from behind.
