Project overview
A roof that had reached the end of its covering life was replaced while the property stayed occupied. The work was sequenced so no area was left open longer than the weather allowed.
The existing problem
The covering had reached an age where individual repairs were no longer economical, and several areas were lifting at the same time. Continuing to patch would have meant paying for the same access more than once.
Work completed
- Existing covering stripped in planned sections
- Deck inspected and repaired where it had been reached by water
- Underlay and new covering installed section by section
- Flashings, edges and penetrations detailed
- Gutters and drainage checked and cleared
- Site cleared and the finished roof walked with the owner
The result
The building has a complete covering rather than an aging one held together by repeated repairs.
