Project overview
A flat roof that had been recoated more than once was still letting water through. The coating was not the original problem, so the drainage was addressed before anything new went down.
The existing problem
Water was sitting on the deck for days after rain because the falls were not carrying it to the outlet. Each new coating had been applied over a surface that stayed damp, so none of them bonded properly and the failures kept returning at the same points.
Work completed
- Existing coatings stripped back to a sound substrate
- Falls corrected so water reaches the outlet
- Outlet and surrounding detail rebuilt
- Upstands, edges and penetrations primed and reinforced
- Liquid applied waterproofing installed to the specified thickness
- Water test carried out before sign off
The result
The roof drains as it should and the coating is bonded to a dry, prepared surface rather than sealed over a wet one.
